Soar to greater heights with our high-altitude flight course!
This course builds on your basic knowledge and introduces you to the world of impressive high-altitude flights. Build your confidence and skills as you master longer and higher flights.
Course objectives and content:
- Completion of 35 high-altitude flights and a 3-day theory course.
- At least 20 of these flights will be under radio supervision in order to safely practice important maneuvers.
- In-depth theoretical content such as material science, equipment science, environmental protection, aerodynamics, meteorology and aviation law.
- Practical exercises such as control techniques, first thermal flights, targeted landings and descent aids.
- Theoretical and practical exam: After passing the exams, you will be an independent pilot and can fly independently.
Obtaining the paragliding license:
To obtain the paragliding license according to the rules of the Austrian Aeroclub, you must complete the following steps:
- Basic paragliding course : Learn the basic knowledge and techniques. The basic course is a necessary prerequisite for the high-altitude flight course. If you have already completed the basic course elsewhere, you can still take part in our high-altitude flight course without any problem.

High-altitude flight course : deepening your knowledge and conducting high-altitude flights. After successfully completing these courses, you must meet the following requirements:
- At least 40 high-altitude flights to gain the required flight experience.
- Theoretical training: Passing the theoretical exams in the areas of aerodynamics, meteorology, aviation law and emergency management.
- Practical test: You are ready to take the test if you have successfully completed the required number of high-altitude flights and can demonstrate your theoretical knowledge. The practical test includes a demonstration of the learned flight maneuvers and techniques under the supervision of an examiner.
Price:
The course costs €850 (excluding rental equipment) and includes teaching materials, the theory course and insurance cover up to the paragliding license. Rental equipment is available for an additional charge of €22 per flight.
